Overview:

This 56m long, 5.7m diameter structural plate steel culvert was constructed to replace the old CNR three span steel girder bridge on County Road 2 in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood.  The new culvert facilitates the recreational use of the abandoned CNR rail-trail for pedestrians, snow mobiles, trail grooming equipment and horseback riding.  This project design alternative allowed for the reduction of the road profile elevation to increase driving sight distance.
