Building Services
Deseronto, Ontario
The Deseronto WPCP services the Town of Deseronto and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. In 2013, GGG completed an Class Environmental Assessment on the Deseronto WPCP to upgrade the plant and expand the capacity to service both the Town and neighboring First Nation Community – The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. The facility is an extended aeration activated sludge process followed by tertiary filtration and UV disinfection of the effluent. The plant was modeled to determine the biosolids production expected in the future, in order to determine the sludge storage requirements. Funding is being provided from the Canada Builds program and the First Nation. Detailed design work is completed and will be tendered in the spring of 2014, with construction to commence in 2014. All process, mechanical, electrical, and civil components were designed by GGG. Upgrades include new concrete tanks for two clarifier and aeration systems, a digester, and sludge dewatering and storage. New process pumps, blowers, electrical controls including PLC and SCADA, standby power, and all major process equipment will be installed.
